Role Description

As our Strategic Finance Associate, you will be responsible for various strategy and finance projects at a high-growth, early-stage startup. You will work closely with the CEO & Head of Finance to drive initiatives related to strategic planning, fundraising, and FP&A. If you are a hungry, high-octane self-starter, this is the role for you.
What you will work on...

● Support equity + debt fundraising effort. Prepare dataroom and materials. Coordinate investor questions & data requests

● Conduct detailed financial analysis on Mercai’s order-level unit economics, cohort, economics, profitability, and cash conversion metrics. Make recommendations on company goals & budgets

● Develop a perspective on strategic decisions. Quantify financial & operational impacts of a broad range of projects across categories, geographies, and business models.
● Prepare communication materials for investors, including company memos, investor updates, data requests, and board meetings

Requisitos

What you will bring…

● 3-5 years of experience in consulting, investment banking, investing (PE, VC), or similar role at a startup

● A deeply strategic and analytical mind - someone who can think critically from first principles and use data to inform their insights and recommendations

● An entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias to action - someone who is comfortable operating independently in an unstructured environment

● An ownership mentality - someone who can step up to tackle new problems and has never uttered the words “it’s not my job”

● Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a top-tier university
